lead character is a female homicide detective, and her
character is well-developed so that the reader really

"Brandi Broughton's "Lycan Instinct"
is primarily a paranormal romance, yet the main and side
stories of this book enter into the genre of mystery, and
take up a large portion of the tale. I think that this adds
some spice to the mix ... and for me makes this book more
appealing.... This story is based on an old theme, but has
originality—not only the way the story was written
but also in its characters. The sentences melt together
and made the story flow, like the notes of an instrument
produce a song. This story's notes were its characters,
and they produced an adventure that you could put yourself
into.... I cared for these characters, and what they were
going through, and needed to read on until I knew how it
would all turn out for them. I usually would say that I
have a good nose for sleuthing, and can usually work out
the ending of a book, but this story had a lot of twists
and turns, leaving me totally surprised at the outcome.
I think that what I liked most about
this book was that it is the type of story that you could
read repeatedly. It was very enjoyable—there was action,
adventure, mystery, paranormal and romance all wielded within
the confines of an interesting tale. Which ended leaving
me wanting more. Apparently, this is first book of a trilogy,
and I look forward to the next installments. My only hope
is that the author hurries as I can hardly wait to read
book two. I would definitely recommend this book highly."

paranormals, because most of the time I don't find the
stories or the characters believable. So many authors
use too much of the "myth" surrounding paranormal
characters. Such is not the case with LYCAN INSTINCT.
Your explanation of who the Lycans are and how they live
is much more realistic than any other paranormal I've
ever read. The interaction between characters, the fabulous
